Agencia Digital | The Agencia Digital, also known as Agencia Virtual, is an online platform introduced by Migraciones in mid-2020 which allows Peruvians and foreigners to take care of lots of (im)migration-related paperwork online from any PC or mobile device. |
Apostille | An Apostille is an official sticker, stamp or printed form placed on or attached to a public document by a competent authority in the country of origin that certifies its authenticity for the use abroad; so, a specialized certificate verifying the legitimacy, genuineness and origin of a document. |
Banco de la Nacion | The Banco de la Nacion (BN), Bank of the Nation, is a state financial institution belonging to the Peruvian Ministry of Economy and Finance. Next to other functions, here all administration charges and processing fees levied by government agencies, public authorities and entities in Peru have to be paid. |
Buzon Electronico | The Buzon Electronico is an electronic mailbox on the Agencia Digital created and used by Migraciones to officially notify applicants about administrative resolutions. |
Carné de Extranjería – Peru’s ID Card for foreigners | The Carné, officially the Carné de Extranjería or abbreviated CE, is an ID card for foreigners in Peru. It is issued by Migraciones after the application of a residence visa was approved and accredits its owner as a legal resident of the country. |
DNI - Peru's National ID Card | The DNI, Documento Nacional de Identidad, is the Peruvian version of an ID card. It’s the only personal identity card recognized by the Peruvian State for all cases (civil, commercial, administrative and judicial) in which a person has to identify him- or herself. |
Indecopi | Indecopi, the National Institute for the Defense of Free Competition and Protection of Intellectual Property, was founded in 1992 to promote a free market and protect consumer rights in Peru. It also encourages a climate of fair and honest competition for all involved (costumers, entrepreneurs and the State) and defends intellectual property. |
INEI -Peru's National Institute of Statistics and Informatics | INEI, the Instituto Nacional de Estadística e Informática (National Institute of Statistics and Informatics) is Peru’s official statistics office. It is a semi-autonomous Peruvian government agency in charge of collecting, coordinating, compiling and evaluating statistical information for the country as well as overseeing the national information technology. |
Ley Seca - Peruvian "dry law" | The Ley Seca, which literally translated means “dry law”, is a temporary alcohol prohibition imposed during election time in Peru. |
Libro de Reclamaciones | The Libro de Reclamaciones (Complaints Book), in Peru also known as Libro de Reclamo, is a useful tool for protecting consumer rights. It allows costumers to file a complaint against any in Peru operating company, institution or service provider – private or public – in case any kind of problem with an acquired product or service arises and no other solution with the provider can be found. |
