There are central emergency phone numbers for the Peruvian police and the fire department. Amazingly, Peru is only covered by voluntary fire brigades and the service they provide is  - at least in Lima - excellent! Tourists and foreigners living in Peru will additionally find a special police force, called tourism police, helpful. Hopefully, you'll never need them, but in case you do...
