Christmas Symphony - Symphony for Peru

With great pleasure and excitement Sinfonía por el Perú (Symphony for Peru) invites to their
anual Christmas concert “Sinfonía Navideña” at the Parque de la Exposición in Lima.

Sinfonía por el Perú is a social initiative founded by famous Peruvian tenor Juan Diego Flórez in 2011 to benefit disadvantaged children in Peru. Inspired by the successful Youth and Child Orchestras of Venezuela, the Symphony of Peru project brings music to hundreds of children and adolescents living in some of the poorest areas of the country allowing them to escape their dreadful living conditions, violence and child labor.

Providing musical equipment, qualified instructors and a feeling of home, belonging and sense, underprivileged children and teens develop in very little time just through the power of music higher self-esteem, greater tenacity to achieve goals, increased creativity and better ways of living together in society.

The astonishing talents and skills slumbering in these children come to light at each concert Sinfonía por el Perú gives in Peru and around the world. And these do not go unnoticed. Over the past 8 years Symphony for Peru has been awarded and recognized for its work worldwide by organizations such as the World Economic Forum and UNESCO. Last year the kids even recorded their first CD “Sinfonía por el Perú – Canciones de Navidad” which was extremely successful and can be bought at their small shop in Miraflores.

Expect a joyful and contemplative evening full of lovely Christmas music, excitement and anticipation for the whole family presented to you by the kids of Sinfonía por el Perú and the Peruvian Symphony Youth Orchestra and Choir led by Maestro Hugo Carrio. All proceeds go to Sinfonía por el Perú.
