The beaches of the coast of the Republic are property of public use, inalienable and imprescriptible. A beach is understood as the area where the coast is presented as an open flat with a gentle slope towards the sea and formed of sand or stone, pebbles or sand mixed with mud plus a strip not less than 50 meters wide parallel to the high line tide.

The entrance and use of the beaches is free, except in the cases stated in this Law.
