We really don't like the word "Blog" but we have to admit that the Editors Corner is the LimaEasy Blog. On 1st of February 2014 is National Pisco Sour Day
As every year on the first Saturday in February, Peru celebrates on the 1st of February 2014 its most popular cocktail with the "Dia Nacional del Pisco Sour" (National Pisco Sour Day). Even though the Pisco Sour will be honored throughout the country, celebrations will be most energetic in Lima and the Pisco producing regions in the south of Peru.
Unlike numerous other webpages and travel writers we from LimaEasy visit locations here in Lima interesting for tourists and visitors "incognito"; meaning even though we are often invited and asked to write an article about a place, we if necessary book and pay as every other visitor without anyone knowing who we are. We think that is the only way to ensure that the experience we have is the same everyone else will have and the only way to review a place honestly.

On the 30th of May Peru pays homage to the potato. Originating and consumed for thousands of years in the Andean highlands, the potato became one of the most important food crops in the world after the Spaniards conquered the Americas nearly 500 years ago and brought it back with them to Europe.
The National Potato Day with numerous activities and celebrations is intended to promote the immense diversity of the potato, increase its consumption and at the same time offer small producers, which primarily grow the tuber in Peru a platform to introduce the wide variety and usage of the potato to consumers.
