A new Exhibition at Parque de las Leyendas about pre-Hispanic Life in Lima
The Parque de las Leyendas not only houses Lima's zoo, a botanical garden and recreation areas; actually here you find 54 archaeological monuments of Lima's most extensive ancient city. The pre-Hispanic town of Maranga was continuously occupied by different cultures for over 2000 years and contained impressive buildings, numerous pyramids, palaces, temples and administrative centers. Also an ancient wall, roads, residential areas, water reservoirs and irrigation channels were part of the complex.
On the 18th of June the district of Barranco started with restoration works on the Bridge of Sighs. Due to this restauration the bridge will be closed to the public for 90 days. The works include the replacement of damaged wood segments with imported pine wood from Oregon, treatment against the high humidity and the installation of new LED illumination.
