As there is quite a vibrant German spoken community in Peru and due to the fact that also LimaEasy receives an increasing amount of visitors from Germany, Austria and Switzerland we decided to sponsor and promote a new Forum & Discussion Board in German language about Peru.

A new Piece of Art issued by the Peruvian Central Bank

The Peruvian Central Bank continues to spread the rich cultural heritage of the country by regularly issuing beautiful new coins within the "Wealth and Pride Numismatic Series". Yesterday already the 14th coin of this series has been put into circulation; this time paying homage to the Paracas Culture, an important pre-Inca civilization that inhabited the area of Paracas in today's southern Peru.

A Temporary Exhibition at MNAAH worth visiting

Peru's cultural heritage is immensely varied. With such an overwhelming range smaller, but not less interesting or important parts of the Peruvian culture are often faded into the background. Since ancient times for example musical instruments play an important role in the life of indigenous people in the Andean and Amazon regions of Peru. Back then as today music is not only used to express feelings, but also to accentuate native rituals, ceremonies and festivities.

Showing and explaining these Peruvian treasures to a wider audience the National Museum of Archaeology, Anthropology and History in Lima opens an interesting temporary exhibition about Musical Instruments of the Andean and Amazon Regions (Instrumentos Musicales Andinos y Amazónicos) worth visiting.

The Largest Food Festival in Latin America is about to start

Finally in just 2 days Mistura 2013 opens its doors. From the 6th to the 15th of September 2013 the largest and most important food festival in Latin America is held on Lima's Costa Verde in Magdalena del Mar.

Mistura brings together small farmers, producers, food sellers, chefs, bakers, confectioners, restaurants, food enthusiasts, Limeños and visitors from all over the world for the country's biggest gastronomic folk festival, all celebrating Peru's rich biodiversity and amazing dishes resulting from it. Next to 10 days full of Peruvian flavors and colors visitors can also expect having a good time with cultural performances like typical Peruvian dances and live music, exhibitions, workshops and much more.

Numismatic Series "Natural Resources of Peru"

Peru is a country with a variety of natural resources. To highlight three of the most important ones the Central Reserve Bank of Peru issued a small Numismatic Series named "Recursos Naturales del Perú" – "Natural Resources of Peru". Motives for the coins are the Anchovy, Cacao and Quinoa.

The new coins are also legal tender and are not thought to be a replacement for the current S /. 1.00 coins. The coins will circulate simultaneously and can be used in any transaction.
