Things change, new content gets published, an article doesn't seem to fit into any of our categories or we as the editors of LimaEasy would like to air our opinions (and you are welcome to comment on them) - This is the place you'll find all that...

More and more the "new looking" taxis can be seen on the streets. The most significant change is a 30 cm wide stripe with a yellow/black or black/white checkerboard pattern. All independent taxi operators have to change their vehicles to the new specification within the next months.

Most of the "yellow" taxis belong to registered companies or syndicates, whereby individual or independent operators will have cars in all sorts of colors...

This new design is once again an attempt to regulate the taxi services, but currently only adding to the confusion of all the different variations circulating the streets in Peru.

Black Markets & Piracy in Peru – A new Tourist Attraction?

Peru is famous for a multitude of cultural attractions and has developed to one of the most visited countries in South America. Peruvian food by now is known all over the world and many international chefs incorporate ingredients or recipes of Peru's diverse cuisine. Exclusive hotels and exquisite restaurants are present everywhere. A very stable economy has been providing national & international investors a solid base with good returns in mining, industry, fishing, production, import and export. Additionally the country is hosting numerous national and international conferences, seminars and fairs. Don't expect Alcoholic Beverages to be served

The mayor for metropolitan Lima, Susana Villarán, was actually known for wanting to „clean up" the city, fight corruption and trying to solve Lima's chaotic traffic situation. Seems she got on the wrong side of some people. After a months-long smear campaign for alleged inefficiency and corruption Susana Villarán had to face a recall referendum in March 2013. While she survived the attempt to drive her out of office, 22 of the 40 city council members, including the deputy mayor weren't so lucky.
